Orientación por la montaña
Una de las cosas mas importantes que tiene que conocer un aficionado al senderismo y al treking, es aprender a manejar las herramientas básicas de orientación en el medio natural de una manera segura.
Con la llegada de los GPS, las aplicaciones para ellos (wikiloc, etc.. ) y para los móviles ( Open GPS Tracker), que permiten descargarte los tracks de los recorridos a realizar, las señales de los senderos, etc.., parece sencillo la orientación en la montaña. Pero nunca debe olvidarse que los elementos esenciales para poder desenvolverte en el campo son el mapa topográfico y la brújula. Ambos elementos son los que nos guiarán, si el resto de dispositivos que llevamos fallan.
Jugando a orientarnos en la montaña
En esta actividad los participantes aprenderán de forma muy básica, a manejar e interpretar un mapa cartográfico y a orientarse en la montaña con la ayuda de una brújula y a utilizar un GPS.
En la primera parte de la actividad se darán una nociones básicas de que son los mapas cartográficos, como se manejan (conocer las curvas de nivel, coordenadas UTM y geográficas, interpretación de los elementos del mapa, como orientar el mapa, etc.). Así mismo se enseñará a los participantes a manejar una brújula (como orientarla, como seguir un rumbo, etc…).
Para que la actividad resulte atractiva y los usuarios demuestren su destreza, los equipos o los miembros de una familia que se formen, tendrán que encontrar una serie de balizas repartidas por la zona , en un tiempo determinado. Para ello tendrán la ayuda del GPS, que les servirán para localizarlas. Aquel equipo que encuentre el mayor número de las balizas en el tiempo estimado será el ganador.
